Release Notes

This release consists of 3 independent MSI files one for each UI of the SolZip project. Just use the one you need.
  1. SolZipSetup.msi - Installs the Command line utility SolZip.exe for zipping C# Solutions and C# Projects from the command line. (Prerequisites: none)
  2. SolZipMMESetup.msi - Installs SolZipMME which integrates the SolZip functionality in Visual Studio. It is based on ManagedMenuExtensions (Prerequisites: You have to install ManagedMenuExtensionsSetup.msi and ManagedMenuVS2008Setup.msi from MME Beta2 patch1)
  3. SolZipGuidanceGATSetup.msi - Installs SolZipGuidance which integrates the SolZip functionality in Visual Studio. But this one is based on Guidance Automation (GAX) from Microsoft. (Prerequisites: You have to install GuidanceAutomationExtensions.exe and GAXP1409.exe)

This release corresponds to changeset 22623

New in this release
  1. Now Source Control bindings for TFS and SCC can be removed from sln and csproj files. The default for all 3 UI's is that the bindings are removed, but you can optionally choose not to remove them. Feel free to contact Jern if you need bindings from other source control vendors removed.
  2. A bug fixed that made WinZip clients give a warning when unzipping certain archives made by SolZip. The warning was given when there was .. (2 dots) in a path in one of the zipped files.
  3. The Name SunZip.exe for the commandline tool was changed to SolZip.exe. Because SunZip sounded too much like UnZip.
  4. The Name SolutionZipper changed to SolZip everywhere. Except for SolutionZipper.dll which has been changed to SolZipBasis.dll

Next Release

The plan for release 1.2 is to provide an MSI file for SolZipMME that includes the ManagedMenuExtensions functionality to make it easy to install with just one install for those who do not have installed ManagedMenuExtensions in advance.
